Dues and waivers for each club can also be collected here. There is a need for a volunteer from each sport and club to oversee their information. Please let us know what you think and what you would like to see.
For the first time, in 2018, the World Underwater Federation (CMAS) created a category for Women to compete at the World Spearfishing Championship in Portugal. Subsequently, the Women's Team USA won. This was the first time a USA Spearfishing Team had won since 1959. The Women’s team won 1st place, at their first world appearance, the first USA gold medal in 62 years! During that same year, a separate category was created at US Nationals and had an overwhelming amount of participation. Those top three competitors subsequently represented our country at Worlds. It was a great year.
The World Championship is a biennial event. In September 2021, the USA Women’s team will again be competing in the 32nd annual World Spearfishing Championship in Sardinia. This will be the 2nd time in history the women will compete at the world level. Team USA is made up of some of the best Spearas in the country. They are world record holders, tournament winners, freediving champions and previous Team USA World Champions. For the next few months, they are dedicating their lives to Team USA through vigorous physical and mental training. These women will be diving at depths up to 140 feet on a single breath in September, no easy task.
Team USA consists of Rosibel Molina (2nd place overall at Worlds 2018), Kelsea Albert (3rd place overall at Worlds 2018 & World Record holder), Nicole Burko (World Record Holder) and Melody Engle (2018 USA Nationals Team Champion member and captain).
