Play occurs in San Francisco
at:
Presidio YMCA (Letterman) Pool
1151 Gorgas Ave Wednesday nights 8:30-10 only for new players and players who want to help or practice skills. Friday nights 8:30-10 also a good first practice. We start with drills and helping new players and end with a scrimmage. Free for YMCA members. $15 for a day pass. Ask and we may have some coupons.
Martin Luther King Pool
Plan on arriving at least fifteen minutes early to get ready to play. We try to get everyone in the water fifteen minutes after the times posted above.
5701 3rd St Monday Nights 7:30-9:30 is for experienced players and ambitious rookies. No practice Sept 7 (Labor Day) for a city holiday. Friday Nights for Children 7:10-8:30 is a SF Recreation and Parks program for kids around 9-14 years old. All equipment is included! When you enter say you coming for hockey and you shouldn't need to pay the city. If you arrive a little late the front may be closed; go to the pool door on the north. Pay us afterwards: free your first time, then $7 per game or $5 when you pay in advance. If you know you are going to have to leave early, please let the people picking teams know. Other Bay Area Underwater Hockey Club Puck (San Jose State University) has an excellent beginners game 4-5PM Sundays. They have regular practice Tuesday and Thursday nights at 8-10pm and on Sundays from 5-7pm. Sometimes SF players carpool to San Jose. Check out their web page for up to date info: CLUB PUCK Santa Rosa Rasta Sharks play on Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Sebastopol pool. For more info, call or e-mail Sean Avent and he can lead you to the people in charge at the current time. Sacramento Underwater Hockey is temporarily suspended. If you are interested in playing or starting a session or club in the Sacramento or other place in California, please contact Sean Avent, Western US Regional Development Director. If you looking for other clubs in the Bay Area, or anywhere else in the country (or the world), the Underwater Hockey Tourist is a great resource. For more information, contact the club through: Sean: (415) 377-2380; sf.h2ockey@gmail.com
